You Have a Business Problem, Not a Data Problem

On data governance:

It takes equal partnership.

Although it is a business problem, that doesn't mean data professionals should just let the business drown.

You can still offer help as a trusted advisor and guide them on what best practices can be in their processes.

However, you should only offer new tools when their processes are stabilized.

It’s like a person who wants to lose weight.

If you were a fitness coach, you could guide your client to work out correctly and eat right.

However, you can’t work out on their behalf, and you should only recommend new workout equipment when they really need one.
